39 Essex Chambers is a leading barristers’ chambers with offices in London, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Chambers is made up of 156 barristers, of whom 51 are Queen’s Counsel, along with 26 door tenants and a staff team of 43.
Our barristers work in a wide range of sectors and practice areas of law, specialising in Commercial, Planning, Environment and Property, Public Law and Civil Liability Law. We work throughout the UK and internationally.

The Role: Office Assistant
Due to internal promotion, we are now recruiting two Office Assistants to join our existing team. The role is busy and varied. You will be providing both legal and administrative support to barristers, preparing electronic bundles, delivering papers to Court and data entry. You will also provide more general office support, such as answering the phones and dealing with post. The team is friendly and fun, and you will be well supported, working closely with other staff members.
You may be a bright school leaver or graduate. You may already be in a legal admin role or working as a junior clerk in a Barristers’ chambers. Either way, you will have great communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Career progression potential is excellent – the role can lead into practice management, IT, marketing/business development, finance or other administrative roles.
